Welcome to The Next Level

Welcome, to at last, a proper, official blog for the slowly developing Next Level video game blog/show etc. Our aims for this blog are as follows:

1. The gaming world is developing faster than our personal lives, so both of us will find it easier to provide our opinions and rich, interesting content on this topic, compared to what we did with more personal blogs 'what we did last Sunday' for example. We are not gaming press, so obviously won't be able to, for example, give you streamed live video casts from gaming shows or events, or get a fraction of the coverage that other websites get, but simply aim to give he views of people who are interested in games.

2. Blogs don't work unless the content is regular. If you can prove to us that you can provide content that is not designed to stir up trouble, is well researched and written, and overall provides good material, we'd be interested in letting you join. At the moment, we are simply aiming to keep this as updated as possible, which should be easier, as mentioned in the last points, with the constant developments.

3. Content is important. We aim to have around 4 types of content on this website. Our main pieces of content will be written blogs, usually containing images, links, quotes etc. We may also included external sources of multimedia, such as videos from Youtube, and we ain't bothered about linking to other websites. We see something cool on Gamesradar, we're going to tell you about it. Our second piece of regular content will be our podcast. We are in the process of getting some equipment together and should have this up and running soon. We want to make theses as regular as possible, at the moment it is difficult to predict when they will be made, as we put the emphasis on quality, rather than meeting a deadline.

The final part of the content jigsaw is video. We already have some, and are constantly attempting to improve ourselves, our content and equipment for these shows. These unfortunately won't be as regular as we would like, but this is the main reason this blog has been created, to help in 'filling the gap' between these videos. We are also going to be moving to a better quality hosting website, which should give our shows a more professional look.

4. We are not millionaires, nor are we sponsored or affiliated to any company, hence, we don't own every game console under the sun. This is why we are going to focus on either providing you with our views on new games or news stories which generally relate to gaming, and not attempt to review games etc, simply to avoid the unfortunate 'fanboyism' that plagues the web.

That pretty much covers all you need to know about what we aim to do here. The blog will be worked on over the next month or so (please bear in mind this is a very busy period in our own lives), in order to improve design and general features.
Thanks a lot for reading and hope you stick around.
